Gluten Free Options at University of Oregon
Today while helping my little sister moving into the dorms at the University of Oregon I noticed a lot of Gluten Free options available at the “Grab n’ Go” food center over by the dorms! They had 14 different “Gluten Free” stickers by the gluten free items. Products ranged from bread to cookies to cereal to pretzels and a bunch more. I was really excited to see all these it’s a nice to see what they are doing for accommodating those who need a Gluten Free Diet. This just shows how much more common Celiac Disease is. When I was a freshman at the same university I had a terrible experience with food in the dorms, not having any options available from the dining halls and having to eat from my room for the majority of meals. I ended up losing about 10 pounds that year. It looks like they are expanding for those students who need to follow a Gluten Free diet!

So you more or less had the opposite happen to your weight your freshmen year. Perhaps eating out of your dorm is a way to avoid the Freshmen 15?
I guess I found the trick to not gaining the freshman 15… I am really glad that they have expanded their options so future students will at least have options to pick from rather than being stuck in that situation
J3577B I want to say – thank you for this!
i have an allergy to Gluten and most of the time i use guar gum or xanthan gum for baking. these gums are good substitute for wheat.
